Roland is back on the old base; her legendary "small" drum machines from the 80's turned out years later astronomical big hits. The huge demand for such retro machinery ensured that prices went through the roof. With the Roland TR-8 Rhythm Performer drum machine is the sound of the famous TR-808, TR-909 and some other drum kits available in an affordable new product. The TR-8 is part of the Aira lineup where yet more gems are from that time. This TR-8 is a lot more extensive than his ancestors: 16 drum kits, built-in effects and USB. The sound generation is digital, but Roland is pretty far gone in their modeling technique (deep analysis of their original hardware) that sound quality is guaranteed.

A piece of history

Which have built the classic TR-808 and TR-909 a great reputation is clear. 808 drums were already since the early 90's in the Sound Canvas and many followers, it is safe to say that everyone knows this unique sound. The 909 was the sound of trance, house and other forms of EDM thanks to the very tight bass drum, the snare warm and very distinctive basins. Funnily enough, Roland was in the 90s, not so very keen to integrate the typical (and desirable) 909 sounds in her own synths and workstations, and this was the period that the vintage machines for some time been working on an upswing.
