These super-light plastic tubes are made for music: The tone is created by striking the tube against something. eg the (hard) floor, chair or table. It is very nice to hit two tubes against each other to play rhythmic chords.
This is a nice base from which you can expand. The set consists of a diatonic octave, the scale of C, or the white keys of the piano. You can also play pentatonically with 5 different tones.
It's nice to think up games with the tree whackers yourself.
